Listening Time

One of the most difficult parts of a language to acquire is the listening skills, so we must devote it as much time as we can in order to improve it progressively.

We are going to do some listening practice of level A2 about jobs. Here you have the link to the webpage, where you can find the video to listen and the document with the activities that you have to perform.

Learning English through songs

Hi everyone!

Today I want to show you one of the funniest ways to learn a new language, SONGS.

Music plays a very important role in our students' lives, and many of them are big fans of different singers or bands who sing in English. Therefore, working with English songs can be very motivating for them.

Here you can see the lyrics of a famous song by Adele, Rolling in the Deep. There are some gaps that students must complete with the words above the lyrics while listening to the song.

Rolling in the Deep (Adele)

door                     clear                     deep                    gold

heart                    burn                      breathless           shared

                               beat                     feeling

There’s a fire starting in my ……………..
Reaching a fever pitch,
It’s bringing me out the dark
Finally I can see your crystal ………………
Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your shit bare

See how I leave with every piece of you
Don’t underestimate the things that I will do
There’s a fire starting in my ………………………
Reaching a fever pitch,
And it’s bring me out the dark

The scars of your love remind me of us
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all
The scars of your love they leave me ……………………
I can’t help …………………
We could have had it all
Rolling in the ……………..
You had my heart and soul
And you played it to the …………….

Baby I have no story to be told
But I’ve heard one of you
And I’m gonna make your head ………………….
Think of me in the depths of your despair
Making a home down there
It reminds you of the home we …………………….

The scars of your love remind me of us
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all
The scars of your love they leave me ……………………
I can’t help …………………..
We could have had it all
Rolling in the ……………..
You had my heart and soul
And you played it to the ………………….

We could have had it all
Rolling in the …………………….
You had my heart and soul
And you played it to the …………………..

Throw your soul through every open ………………….
Count your blessings to find what you look for
Turned my sorrow into treasured ……………………..
You pay me back in kind and reap just what you sow

We could have had it all
We could have had it all
It all, it all it all,
We could have had it all
Rolling in the ……………………
You had my heart and soul
And you played it to the ………………….

We could have had it all
Rolling in the …………………….
You had my heart and soul
And you played it to the …………………….

Welcome to my blog

Hello everyone!

I'm Cristina, an English teacher at Enrique de Arfe high school, in Villacañas (Toledo). I've created this blog to share different aspects of this language with you. I hope this experience will be useful for you and, of course, I also hope to learn different things from you!
